Q: What is this new initiative?
A: Leverage the IT technologies and improve our professional skills. This initiative will be formed into several small groups for the specific topics which you may be interested.

Q: How to join if I'm interested in any specific topic?
A: Each topic should have a topic leader. Please contact the leader to join.

Q: Where to discuss?
A: You can use email or forums. However, for archiving purpose, we suggest you should use forums. Each topic leader can send request to contact@ njccps dot org for the forum creation.

Q: I would like to discuss topic XYZ, but I don't see any.
A: Anyone can become a topic leader if you don't see the topic exists. You can send email to all@ njccps dot org mailing list and see if anyone is interested. If you have found partners for the topic, please send email to contact@ njccps dot org requesting your forum to be created.

Q: Do I need to be a guru to join the discussion?
A: No. You don't have to be a guru. As long as you are interested, you can join.

Q: Do I need to be a guru to create a topic?
A: No. If there is any topic that you are interested and no such topic has been created, you can create your own one and then send out email to all@ mailing list. Once you have partners, you can request the forum.

Q: Can I join multiple topics at the same time?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: How long a topic will be last?
A: It depends. It could be a couple of weeks or a couple of years. It will be your topic leader's and/or partners' decision. When everyone feel there is no more need for discussion for the same topic, the topic leader can request to close or shutdown the topic (forums). However, if the forum has no activity for three months (from the last post on forum), the forum will be closed by the system. Although no more posts on forum doesn't mean your topic is not in progess, the system needs to close to reduce the maintenace purpose.

Q: I've only a few people join the topic, can I still create the topic?
A: Yes, you can. Actually, we expect each topic should be a small group, not 40, 50 or 100 people.
