In this talk, Dong Liu from Bell Labs will present his personal experience, observation and
lessons learnt from the development of a real enterprise Instant
Messaging (IM) iOS App.

This talk assumes that audiences already have the basic iOS
programming knowledge. It will present personal observation on
interesting and peculiar aspects of iOS programming from a traditional
server and/or desktop programmer's perspective.

This talk is organized as follows. 
First, the overview architecture of the IM app is presented.
Second, some interesting topics of iOS programming are discussed,
which include,
  • UX/UI design principle
  • UI Navigation Model
  • UITableView and UITableViewCell
  • Delegates and Blocks (Callbacks and Closures)
  • Thread Model, iOS thread model
  • CoreData, a very powerful caching mecahnism
